Partnership Announcement: Cosworth and Sim-Lab
Cosworth and Sim-Lab announce a strategic partnership to bring legendary Motorsport engineering in sim racing
Tholen, Netherlands, October 2025
Cosworth and Sim-Lab are joining forces to push sim racing hardware to a new level. Cosworth, based in the United Kingdom, is a global leader in motorsport electronics, renowned for championship-winning power-trains, electronics, and data systems. Sim-Lab, based in the Netherlands, is a leader in high-quality cockpits and peripherals trusted by professional drivers, teams, and dedicated sim racers. Together, the companies combine motorsport engineering with user-focused product design to bring authentic performance into the home.
For more than six decades, Cosworth has powered champions and shaped racing technology. Cosworth-powered cars have won 176 Formula One Grands Prix, with the iconic DFV V8 engine alone credited with 155 of those victories and a combined 22 World Championship titles between 1968 and 1982. This heritage in engines and control electronics is the backbone of the new collaboration with Sim-Lab.
First milestone product: Cosworth Carbon Wheel Mk3 for sim racing
The first major result of the partnership is the Cosworth Carbon Wheel Mk3 (CCW Mk3) adapted for sim racing. CCW Mk3 is a professional-grade steering wheel platform used in high-end prototype applications. Key features include a 284 mm FIA-certified ultra-lightweight carbon construction, 12 RGB backlit buttons, 4 backlit rotaries, 4 thumb-wheel encoders, up to 6 paddles, high-speed solid-state logging, and dual CAN connectivity. Sim-Lab and Cosworth are aligning this proven motorsport hardware with the needs of serious sim racers.
Our collaboration with Sim-Lab reflects a shared commitment to innovation and performance, bringing elite Motorsport engineering into the homes of enthusiasts.
“Our latest evolution of the CCW Mk3 steering wheel is the result of extensive collaboration with teams and drivers to ensure it meets the highest standards in ergonomics, customization and race-critical functionality, said Paul Newby, MD Cosworth Electronics. By working closely with the motorsport teams, we’ve created a product that balances cutting-edge technology with real-world usability on the track. Together with Sim-Lab, we’re extending that philosophy to the sim racing community, delivering an authentic, immersive experience that bridges the gap between simulation and reality."
Public debut at ADAC SimRacing Expo 2025
Fans can see and feel a real CCW Mk3 on display at the ADAC SimRacing Expo, Messe Dortmund, 17–19 October 2025, at booth D8. The SimRacing Expo is a major annual showcase with hands-on previews of upcoming hardware and software.
“Cosworth’s legacy of engineering excellence fits perfectly with our mission to raise the ceiling for sim racing hardware,” said Richard Schouteren, CEO of Sim-Lab. “Together we will deliver authentic motorsport performance and user-focused design to a wider audience of racers at home.”
This partnership combines Cosworth’s racing DNA with Sim-Lab’s product craftsmanship and community focus. The goal is clear: close the gap between the real and the virtual and give sim racers hardware that stands up to professional standards.
Racing DNA, reimagined.
